%0 Journal Article %T Acondicionamiento de Espacios con Enfriamiento Evaporativo mediante Ladrillos Cer¨¢micos %A Flores M %A F %A Hern¨¢ndez R %A J %A Rey M %A F %A Velasco G %A E %A Tejero G %A A %J Ingenier¨ªa mec¨¢nica, tecnolog¨ªa y desarrollo %D 2011 %I Sociedad Mexicana de Ingenier¨ªa Mec¨¢nica %X a combined system consisting of a semi-indirect evaporative cooling system made of hollow bricks (ceramic evaporative cooler, cec), a bank of heat pipes (hp) to permit heat recovery and obtain cooling and humidification of outside air (warm and dry) to be introduced into living space or climatic chamber (cc). this airstream gets into direct contact with the water drops in the porous surface of the bricks, enabling the heat and mass transfer. the system is characterised through the design of experiments technique. it is then analysed how variation within different ranges of the parameters considered affect (supply volume flow rate, outdoor air inlet temperature and humidity content). finally, a study of the behaviour of the air conditioning system is developed, focusing in the heat recovery achieved, the coefficient of performance obtained, the saturation efficiency and effectiveness registered, among others. results permit concluding that the hp-cec system is an efficient alternative for the comfort of indoor spaces, as it reduces the energy consumption required for conditioning the ventilation air supplied, and thus downsizes the conventional systems air-air installed. %K air-conditioning %K evaporative cooling %K heat pipes %K heat recovery %K hollow bricks. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1665-73812011000100002&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
