%0 Journal Article %T Desarrollo de las t¨¦cnicas de producci¨®n y estudio de la solidificaci¨®n de las aleaciones Cu-Mg-Sn para aplicaciones tribol¨®gicas %A Bravo %A Agust¨ªn %A Schouwenaars %A Rafael %A Ortiz %A Armando %J Ingenier¨ªa mec¨¢nica, tecnolog¨ªa y desarrollo %D 2010 %I Sociedad Mexicana de Ingenier¨ªa Mec¨¢nica %X this work reviews the need for new formulations for the ductile triboalloy used in internal combustion engines. the cu-mg-sn system will be identified as an interesting candidate to substitute cu-pb alloys. the production of thin slabs is complicated for this kind of alloys; the paper describes the technical solutions introduced, as well as the measurement of temperature during solidification. attention will be paid to the optimal filtering of the cooling curves measured in the experiments. the feasibility and importance of the techniques developed will be illustrated trough a series of examples of successful castings, analysed by means of scanning electron microscopy. the paper demonstrates that producing and cold working of the thin cu-mg-sn slabs is technically feasible with fairly simple laboratory techniques and will indicate the importance of the associated thermodynamic study. the necessary steps for future investigation are summarised briefly. %K cu-mg-sn alloys %K casting %K cooling curves %K thermodynamic equilibrium %K metallography. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1665-73812010000100006&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
