%0 Journal Article %T "EN LA CORRIENTE VIAJAN..." %A ORRANTIA %A JUAN %J Revista Colombiana de Antropolog¨ªa %D 2010 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X in colombia, the waters of rivers like the magdalena have become stages for the exposure of terror and loss. however, in this essay i want to propose an alternative approach to water and its relation to violence. based on the process of fermentation, both as metaphor and material reality, i suggest the possibility of imagining a form of sensual memory brought about by the interaction with waters that contain residues of terror. for this i rely on a series of ethnographic fragments and photographs of daily life in the town of nueva venecia, where water impregnated by the residues of a massacre trickles through spaces, instances and stages of the everyday life. these moments open up the possibilities of understanding this relationship with water and its residues as part of a narrative of memory rather than oblivion %K water %K terror %K narratives %K memory. %U http://www.scielo.org.co/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0486-65252010000100008&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
