%X from a scientific approach, jose ladislao andara considers that ideas have the power to change society. the civilization of a place is determined by its ideas and customs, and the influence of the physical context, plus its heritage. to modify the civilizing condition of a place, great changes have to occur. our culture is defined by the spanish, indian and african roots. miscegenation, which he considers positive, has been typical among venezuelans. it is necessary to make a great educational effort and increase the population. during the development of our historical process, we have brought down the former regime and caste division, legal equality was established, the interbreeding of races was deepened and the national soul was shaped. nevertheless, civil wars, anarchy, poverty and backwardness were enthroned in the nation. he praises antonio guzm¨¢n blanco and juan vicente g¨®mez as the great makers of the republic. in his youth, he attacked favoritism, dictatorship and invokes people£¿s right of insurrection against tyrannical governments
