%0 Journal Article %T Tensiones, contradicciones y disputas: Guaran¨ªes y ONG¡äS de desarrollo en el Noroeste Argentino %A Castelnuovo Biraben %A Natalia %J Av£¿£¿ %D 2011 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X since the nineties till today, a significant number of indigenous communities from northwestern argentina have been target of a series of actions deployed by technicians, ngos and development projects. this article focuses on the encounter between guaran¨ª communities and ngo's staffs, in order to explore how their interaction generates a series of tensions, contradictions, struggles for power, knowledge, values and interests in local contexts. to illustrate the discontinuities that intertwine these worlds-lives, i use long's interface concept. likewise, this work aims to analyze development techniques in terms of brokers and to reflect upon the way they reproduce representations at hierarchical domain relations through mediation, like the existing ones between the franciscans missionaries and the guaran¨ª people. i assume an anthropological and ethno-historical perspective, emphasizing on a historical, cultural and identity-based contextualization of the guaran¨ª people. %K guaran¨ª people %K development ngos %K interface %K brokers. %U http://www.scielo.org.ar/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S1851-16942011000100003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
