%0 Journal Article %T La Noci¨®n de Posesi¨®n y su Relaci¨®n con el Dativo en Espa£¿ol %A Matera %A Masiel %A Medina %A Raimundo %J Boletin de Linguistica %D 2008 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X in recent studies in generative grammar, it is assumed that the verb describes the events in the world and the verbal arguments name the participants who are in some important relation with these events, and that the introductory elements of nonessential participants in the argument structure must be syntactic heads. the aim in this paper is, on the one hand, to relate the occurrence of the complements of the verb to the notion of transference of possession, and intention of transference of possession in spanish; and, on the other hand, to determine the distinctive features of the strict and the ample dative. the results support the following assumptions: i) in the strict dative, the presence of the dative clitic is obligatory; whereas in the ample dative, its phonetic realization is optional, ii) the preposition para in spanish introduces a new participant called coparticipant. %K generative grammar %K verbal arguments %K applicatives. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0798-97092008000200006&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
