%0 Journal Article %T La Frecuencia De Los Relativos En El Habla De Valencia (Venezuela) %A Navarro %A Manuel %J Boletin de Linguistica %D 2006 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X two main objectives are pursued in this paper: i) to determine the frequency index of the variants in the use of relative pronouns; ii) to verify whether this frequency index may correlate with linguistic and/or social factors. for these purposes, a wide corpus recorded in a semi-formal style has been analysed. the data consisted of interviews with 484 subjects distributed by sex, age, level of schooling and income. the main conclusions are as follows: a) the form que has a high frequency index and at times it has substituted other variants almost completely; b) there are a number of linguistic factors which condition the frequency of duplications; c) in general, social factors do not have a significant effect on the distribution of the relative pronouns studied. %K relative pronouns %K frequency %K linguistic and social factors. %U http://www.scielo.org.ve/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0798-97092006000100003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
