%X the macrobenthic assemblages of buenos aires province continental shelf were studied from samples collected by the r/v "capit¨¢n oca balda" along a transect from 38 m to 218 m depth. three faunistic areas were determined, corresponding to the coastal, central and external shelf, inhabited by species originate d from the argentine and/or magellanic zoogeographical provinces. these results confirm the presence of different ecological areas in the argentine continental shelf.
