%0 Journal Article %T El g¨¦nero Ficus (Moraceae) en la provincia biogeogr¨¢fica de la Depresi¨®n del Balsas, M¨¦xico %A Gonz¨¢lez-Casta£¿eda %A Nah¨² %A Cornejo-Tenorio %A Guadalupe %A Ibarra-Manr¨ªquez %A Guillermo %J Bolet¨ªn de la Sociedad Bot¨¢nica de M¨¦xico %D 2010 %I Scientific Electronic Library Online %X based on field work, taxonomic and floristic literature, and herbarium specimens, eleven species of ficus (moraceae) in the balsas basin biogeographic province, mexico, were recognized. these species belong to subgenera pharmacosycea (f. insipida and f. maxima) and urostigma (f. citrifolia, f. cotinifolia, f. crocata, f. membranacea, f. obtusifolia, f. pertusa, f. petiolaris, f. pringlei and f. velutina), and comprise ca. 50% of the total species recorded in mexico. ficus petiolaris and f. pringlei are endemic to this country. tropical deciduous forest is the most frequent vegetation type were these species can be found, mainly between 800 and 1,600 m. descriptions, images, synonyms, and identification key are provided for each species. %K amate %K higuera %K matapalo %K tropical deciduous forest. %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0366-21282010000200009&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
