%X as part of an on-going taxonomic revision of matisia section calyculatae (malvaceae - matisieae), matisia pacifica, a new species restricted to the biogeographic choc¨® region is described and illustrated. an expanded description of m. bracteolosa ducke, s. str., a species restricted to the amazonian region, is also included and its possible affinities are discussed.
