%0 Journal Article %T Descripci¨®n anat¨®mico-quir¨²rgica del colgajo dorsoepig¨¢strico: una opci¨®n diferente en reconstrucci¨®n mamaria %A Haddad Tame %A J.L. %A Jim¨¦nez Mu£¿oz Ledo %A G %J Cirug¨ªa Pl¨¢stica Ibero-Latinoamericana %D 2012 %I Sociedad Espa?ola de Cirug¨ªa Pl¨¢stica, Reparadora y Est¨¦tica (SECPRE) %R 10.4321/S0376-78922012000100003 %X breast importance is evident for women quality of life. the physical and psychological trauma of mastectomy can be treated by breast reconstruction, so it¡äs important to search for new reconstructive options decreasing complications and improving the cosmetic results. by an anatomical study in 3 fresh cadavers we observed the neurovascular anatomy of the latissimus dorsi and we founded a constant anatomy; then we realized the dorsoepigastric muscle sparing of latissimus dorsi flap taking a strip of 5 to 7cm from lateral edge of the muscle including the descending branch of the thoracodorsal artery in 9 patients meeting inclusion criteria, yielded a rate of 0.63 % overall complications, decreasing donor site morbidity and improved cosmetic outcome. it was concluded that this flap is an excellent reconstructive option for breast cancer patients, although this is a pilot study and we need to expand the sample of patients to provide external validity. %K breast reconstruction %K latissimus dorsi flap %K dorsoepigastric flap %K thoracodorsal artery perforator flap. %U http://scielo.isciii.es/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0376-78922012000100003&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
