%0 Journal Article %T Reconstrucci¨®n facial postraum¨¢tica: Experiencia en un centro hospitalario no gubernamental %A Visag Castillo %A V.J. %A Vallarta Rodr¨ªguez %A A. %J Cirug¨ªa Pl¨¢stica Ibero-Latinoamericana %D 2012 %I Sociedad Espa?ola de Cirug¨ªa Pl¨¢stica, Reparadora y Est¨¦tica (SECPRE) %R 10.4321/S0376-78922012000100007 %X facial trauma is associated with important functional and aesthetic defects; therefore a quick and correct management improves the functional and aesthetic results. we present a retrospective, observational and descriptive study analyzing the medical charts of those patients who suffered post-traumatic face reconstruction by plastic surgeons, between january 2006 and december 2009. we analyze 51 cases of facial trauma; men where more affected, average age was 29.33 years, the most frequent trauma was blunt one (car crash), the most common type of treatment was urgent surgery, the most common fracture affected orbital floor. we used titanium miniplates to fix them and for the orbital floor we used titanium mesh. the operative time was 120 minutes average. our retrospective study shows that facial traumas treated at medica sur hospital (m¨¦xico df), are similar to those reported in the literature and that urgent repair made by plastic surgeons has great aesthetic and functional outcome. %K facial trauma %K facial fractures %K reconstructive facial surgery. %U http://scielo.isciii.es/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&pid=S0376-78922012000100007&lng=en&nrm=iso&tlng=en
