%X cardiac tumors are rare clinical entity, however, they have an especial interest in forensic medicine because they can be the source of sudden death. we report a case of a 38-years old male who had been diagnosed with primary choroidal melanoma some years before his sudden death. forensic autopsy and histopathologic examination revealed pulmonary embolism due to a melanoma metastasis in the right atrium. in addition, in this article we conduct a general review of cardiac tumors.
