%X facial subcutaneous emphysema may occur in the context of dental procedures, trauma or surgery. it is unusual that this emphysema is self-caused by the patient. we report three cases of facial emphysema produced by inmates in the prison with intent to disfigure the face and avoid being recognized by witnesses in court.
