The latest 2017 version of Scholar Metrics were released online on July 5th, 2017. To help researchers and publishers learn more about open access (OA) journals, the team of Open Access Library released the updated version of rankings for open access journals in August 2017. The basic benchmark used in the OA journals rankings is the h5-index. The journal h5-index related citations data are obtained from Google Scholar.

Currently, you can view a journals’ ranking by selecting proper research keywords from the A-Z list on this page: OA Publications’ Ranking. For example: Food Science & Technology. Meanwhile, as for the journals with broad fields, you can find the ranking on the page of Mega Journals.

Besides browsing by given research keywords, we also provide the search function for specific publications or keywords. If you are unable to find the OA journal in the list of top 50 publications ordered by their h5-index, please explore the publication by typing its title in the search box directly.
