Mídia, poder e democracia: teoria e práxis dos meios de comunica？？o

this paper analyzes conceptually and empirically the role of the media for the democracy, specially in the brazilian case. it criticizes the presumed public action of the media, because of its private and mercantile nature. it defends the thesis of the social and democratic control of the media.
