Calidad en los servicios médicos en anestesiología: algunas consideraciones actuales

introduction: at the present time many authors coincide in the recognition that it is necessary to improve the quality of products and services to be competitive and to meet the needs and expectations of clients. the health services are a very significant determinant factor for the population welfare and the continuous improvement of quality, it is essential to achieve its excellence. objectives: to specify some useful concepts for the current quality policies applied in anesthesiology. development: in the case of the anesthesiology, the quality control is started with the identification of problems and its quantification by means of use of indicators and its standards, whereas the fulfillment of expectancies (perceived quality) by different clients is another paragraph valuable in the continuous improvement of the quality. once detected the weakness to be overcome, it is necessary to develop plant using appropriate implementation measures on the anesthetic process to subsequently to assess the results and thus to improve the quality of services offered. conclusions: the implementation of a continuous improvement system of quality in anesthesiology's services from the indicators and the meeting of expectancies of our clients is a need of current time.
