Aproximación a la evolución de los cambios en los servicios de salud en Cuba

the general characterization of the processes that have been prompted since the mid 90's, aimed at the health sector recovery and at the improvement of the quality of service, the efficiency and the effectiveness of the system, and at keeping equity, was taken as basis for the description of the evolution of fundamental indicators of service, human resource and health infrastructure in this article. the essential objectives and contents of the present changes in the national health care system aided by reorganization, concentration and regionalization of services were explained in order to discuss the implications of restructuring in the territorial distribution, emphasizing controversies between rationality and real or perceived access equity.
