MI VECINO APESTA: UNA APROXIMACIóN SOCIOLóGICA AL FENóMENO LULU

this article explores from a sociological perspective, the dynamics developed within the nimby (not in my backyard) phenomenon as lulu's (locally undesirable land uses) phenomenonmaterialization, trynngto enlighten in this way the symbolic construction oj the space; particularly the associated meanings to locally unwanted uses oj the land. at the same time, we suggest a dijjerent and complementary explanation oj the phenomenon present in this hind oj literature. the main hypothesis is that the constitution oj the nimby phenomenon is not only, not even in its core, product oj the environmental risk perception, but as a result oj a symbolic valorization oj space associated to this phenomenon. the analysis oj these matters was done jrom aljred schutz's phenomenological perspective. in order to pursue that, the qualitative methodology was employed.
