Abstract: urban space currently represents the main form of economic and demographic concentration not only in mexican cities, but also in latin american cities and across the world. understanding the way these urban spaces turn into metropolises is an essential aspect when attempting to influence on them. this can be done through the creation of proper planning instruments, which may generate public policies designed to avoid the proliferation and occupation of vulnerable spaces.
