Abstract:

the main features of the present macroscopic dissection findings in the rat are: the "diagonal antral band" (dab). this connective-nervous structure goes from the antral-fundic junction up to the pylorus. two laminas, like curtains, get anchored in the (dab). the most superficial is the "hepato gastro duodenal" (hgd). the deeper one is the "pre-post-esophageal-gastric" (p-peg). due to their rich neuronal density, two "autonomic centers" are described, the "antral-fundic-autonomic-center" (af-ac) and the "peri-vaterian-autonomic-center" (pv-ac) which represents the most sensitive region of the pancreatic gland's "trigger". anterior to the common bile duct is described the "pre-bile duct-plexual-node" (p-bdpn) which constitute a "carrefour" of nerve fibres coming from different sources. with respect to the vagal trunks, the left or anterior commands the anterior side of the stomach, the supra-vaterian duodenum and the head of the pancreas. this is achieved through gastric collaterals and the hepatic branch. the right or posterior commands the posterior side of the stomach through the gastric collaterals and the body-tail of the pancreas through its celiac branch. the "lanes" of the "neural-plexual-freeway" and the nerve fibres that "jump" the "duodeno-pancreatic-cleft" allow the transmission of nerve impulses to and from the pancreatic gland
