Abstract:

this paper presents a discussion regarding the problems involved in using computers in education from a didactical and epistemological point of view. the discussion takes as an example the cabri-géomètre software, a teaching assistent system in the elementary geometry domain. we intend that the considerations about this software could be useful as a reference point to more general questions corcerning the use of educational softwares. we aim specially to enlarge the scope of this discussion, focusing the relationship between knowledge, culture, technology and society.
