De la teoría de la complejidad a la ética ecológicaKeywords: complexity theory, ecological ethics, western rationality. Abstract: among the most important criticisms of western rationality, which emerged from modernity, are those contained in edgar morin?s work. this paper analyzes questions based on the complexity theory addressed to the hegemony of the western instrumental epistemological perspective, which, having formulated antagonism between subject-object in the knowledge construction process, conceives nature as an environment capable of enduring any kind of human manipulation and denies the value of other knowledge coming from different gnoseological perspectives. the predatory attitude of modernity toward nature imposes the urgent need to develop an ecological ethic that guarantees the continuity of life on our planet. this reflection should overcome the current paradigm of civilization.
