Industrializa？？o na periferia da regi？o metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro: novos paradigmas para velhos problemas

the proposal of this article is to study the historic evolution of baixada fluminense area, especially the cities of nova igua？u and duque de caxias, to show the functions of this area upon the social and economic development of the metropolitan area of rio de janeiro. in other words, the objective is to understand the position of the periphery of rio in different economic context of metropolitan history. in order to achieve this purpose a review of the generated impacts by the 80′s crisis, the adapted strategies in the 90's decade and the conditions that contribute in generating the lived processes in this period for rio de janeiro specially for two of its main cities is presented.
