La formación intelectual y eclesiástica de los ministros ordenados en la Iglesia Occidental en el siglo V

this article investigates how the combination of faith and reason formed part of the training required for the presbyters in charge of the communities in the western church of the 5th century. the present study is organized in three parts: the first shows how, in the 5th century, intellectual training was already traditionally required for candidates for the ordained ministry; the second shows what humanistic studies they could carry out in their time, and the third deals with the eminently priestly formation that prepared them for ministry in the communities entrusted to them.
