Algunas reflexiones en torno a la traducción como representaciónAbstract: this article explores the function of translation as representation. drawing on peirce's semiotics, it argues in favour of translation acting as an interpreting thought, an interpretant that determines the relations between the sign and its object. it then goes into the causal, iconic aspect of these relations and attempts to illustrate the workings of diagrammatic iconicity, especially within the cognitive paradigm, and the way it affects translation processes. focussing on the literary and, more specifically, the poetic genre, without, however, postulating a literary-non-literary genre dichotomy, it gives examples of courses of action in line with the nature of translation supported in the theory.
