Abstract:

the main target of this work is to expose the lack of equity in the historical reconstruction of the venezuelan educational reality between xixth century and part of xxth century, reflecting from a theoretical and methodological directive, the nineteenth scholastic-educative direction in venezuela (which is extended into the first decades of the xxth), by means of the regressive method of historical reconstruction and a work of active interrogation on the sources and documentation of the time. that lack of equity pronounces in the treatment of minorities, among them, women: the direction of the scholastic contents for the women is towards the formation of mothers and housewives, with the purpose of fulfilling domestic functions and reproduction of preservative, traditionalistic patterns, with special emphasis in the formation to transmit, and reproduce the catholic dogma. this is the tendency that would mark the way women schools during xixth century and the first decades of xxth century. the women schools at the time would not have exit towards superior studies. the women were stuck in elementary studies that did not credit them towards the university nor towards any other higher educational option. nevertheless, they would later form a majority in the labour mass dedicating to teaching, in gremials unions and other activities.
