Stratégia rozvoja lesníctva na Slovensku

Global strategic goal of forestry in Slovakia is presented in the paper. Principles of long-term development of forests (sustainable forest development, optimal production and optimal fulfilling of non-production forest functions, stability of forest stands, ecologization, economy) are given as well. The most important are strategic goals of forestry by the year 2025. They are in particular five strategic goals as support to ecological management of forests, improvement and protection of environment, improving the quality of life, increasing long-term competitiveness, enhancement of cooperation, coordination and communication. In the framework of these strategic goals there are determined 18 priorities. Characteristics, way of securing and justification is given for each priority.
