Abstract:

Tensegration massage is methodologically based on the tensegrity rule according to which the increased tension of one element of the structure causes analogical increase of tension of other elements remaining in mutual structural contact. In therapeutic practice it is manifested in such a way that the increase of the rest tonus of one muscle in time causes proportional increase of the tonus of other muscles remaining in direct or indirect structural contact with it. The increased tension of soft tissues is usually manifested by their increased pressure sensitivity which in turn is used for estimating and detecting disorders occurring in them. A therapist palpably evaluating pressure sensitivity of tissues gets the answer to the following questions: in which tissues there is excessive increase of the rest tonus and which tissues should be massaged to restore normal tonus Palpable evaluation of tissues can be performed on their osseous attachments or in their course. Owing to relatively easy location and repeatability the evaluation of osseous attachments is preferred.
