Above-ground insect communities in the forest-steppe zone of northern Mongolia

Preliminary studies conducted during 2005 in natural grasslands of the forest- steppe zone in northern Mongolia concerned densities, biomass, and diversity of above-ground insect communities. The results were compared with those of long-term studies in agricultural landscapes of Europe. Differences were found in the diversity, biomass and dominance structure of insect communities between these two regions.
