Ignacio Ellacuría y la pregunta acerca de la "filosofía para qué?"

In this article there is an attempt to analyze the validity of philosophy in our postmodern times. Many thinkers ask themselves questions about the necessity of its survival - to make sense of their work, among them - a Salvadorean philosopher of Basque origin Ignacio Ellacuría Beascoechea. Living between Europe and South America, he knew well the needs of the world that lacks sense and freedom. This article describes options for modern philosophers and philosophizing due to the critical conception that defines his project of liberation and makes clear today's situation of evident crisis of thinking through questioning the author's own definition and philosophical tasks, and by them - the question of sense and value of life. So we propose the definition of philosophy that is not only a kind of knowledge that deals with understanding of things, but also a certain form of life, political and practical options as well.
