Dynamic Analysis of Social Networks

This document deals with social networks, their types, analysis of their behaviour and properties. The main focus is on dynamic analysis of social networks taking several points of views. First, it is the analysis of frequency of network usage in various day hours. Second, it is the analysis of changes (growing, reduction or restructuring) with the aid of network visualization. At the end, it is analysis of selected structural characteristics: the distribution of the average nodes degrees for the purpose of authoritative user searching and clustering coefficient for the purpose of user’s relations monitoring. The paper describes the results of the dynamic analysis of the data, which were collected from social network Internet Relay Chat (IRC) and private discussion channel Kyberia (www.kyberia.sk).
