Chitooligosaccharide Can Decrease The Level of Reactive Oxygen in AD Model Cells
|
Abstract:
The levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in two AD (Alzheimer's Disease) model cells, i.e., swe N2a cell and Δ9/swe N2a cell, were compared by using fluorescence microscopic imaging. Chitooligosaccharide of proper concentration in culture medium suppressed the ROS level in the two AD model cells. The ROS suppressing function was variable with change of chitooligosaccharide concentration and was different for the two AD models. The difference suggests that chitooligosaccharide suppresses ROS level in AD model cells through different pathways.
