Design of W-band 16 elements full sampling focal plane linear array
|
Abstract:
A 16 elements focal plane linear array (FPLA) at 84~94GHz for passive millimeter-wave imaging is designed. A 500mm diameter parabolic reflector is employed as focus unit to obtain an angular resolution as high as 0.47°. The 16 feed horns are arranged as 4×4 array, in which the feed horns in adjacent columns are interlaced placed, and this arrangement will increase the scene sampling density one times while maintaining the feed-horns arrangement density. The location parameters of feed-horns are optimized with Current Distribution Method. Measured pattern shows that a sampling density fitting the requirement of Nyquist sampling can be obtained in vertical direction with the FPLA. Imaging experimental results indicate that the passive imaging system built with the FPLA can obtain full sampling imaging data of scene by scanning in horizontal direction once, imaging time-consumed reduced by 1 times than traditional scanning ways does.
