The multi-path scattering characteristics and the geometry extraction of cylinder tanks in SAR image
|
Abstract:
During our research, it is found that the cylinder tanks in the SAR image is consisted of three or four arcs with different radii. According to analysis, this phenomenon is due to the multi-path scattering mechanism and the synthetic aperture progress for SAR. In this work, combining scattering theory and principle of SAR, a novel prediction model on the multi-path scattering characteristics about the SAR image of cylinder tanks, including the fixed and the floating top styles, is proposed, which provide the relationship between the geometry parameters of the tank, the SAR parameters and the approximation position and the scatting strength of the bright region in the SAR image. The validity of the model is proved by analyzing the Terra-SAR data and some simulation experiments. Furthermore, the geometry extraction experiment is successfully implemented on the Terra-SAR data. The results and the analysis show the better the precise and the stability.
