Abstract:

A new efficient and economical method has been established to improve the ability capturing the ultrafine particles from the dusty air. The saturated water vapor created by the electro-acoustic ultrasonic nebulizer is charged into the dusty gas. According to the "cloud physics" and collision theory, the saturated water vapor coagulates on the particle surface and the particle size increases. As the result, the separation efficiency of the ultrafine ones rapidly goes up. To prove the validity of this method, a small experimental system including an electro-acoustic ultrasonic nebulizer and a gas cyclone was set up. The results show that as the concentration of the ultrasonic vapor increases, the total separation efficiency and the grade efficiency of the ultrafine particles increase significantly. Moreover, the pressure drop of the gas cyclone decreases accordingly.
