Research and analysis of converted wave in reservoir prediction
|
Abstract:
The anisotropy of rock is closely related to the migration and accumulation of oil and gas .Transverse wave is sensitive to anisotropy. Therefore it can offer invaluable information for oil exploration and development . Due to the anisotropy of rock, when the compressional wave propagates in the subsurface, it will create compressional wave and transverse wave on the interface of wave impedance. So we can use this information to research the physical property of the rock. This paper is based on the finite difference and aimed at the reservoir geological property. We utilize the wave equation propagation characteristics of elastic wave to research P-SV converted wave, and analyze its propagation characteristics to direct its application in reservoir prediction. The result shows that the transverse wave has a better image than the compressional wave when they travel through the reservoir.
