Geophysics and geodynamics related to computational mathematics
|
Abstract:
Geophysics is a subject developed from the 20th century. It is based on physics, mathematics and information sciences, and combined with geology, geochemistry closely. Aimed at probing and studying the property and structure of earth interior media, exchange of substance and energy and deep process and dynamic response, it plays an important part in accelerating the development of our society economy, science and technology. Preventing of natural disaster and needs for natural resource are the core issues in the sustainable development of human being. In research and exploration of these geosciences problems, we must firstly acquire data with high resolution, and then invert the fine structure of the earth interiors and its mechanical process and dynamical response. This article discusses the development tendency and characters of geophysics and geodynamics, development of geophysics and its need for computational mathematics, mathematic simulation in geodynamics and computational geophysics.
