Improvement of Motor Performance of Students with Mentally Retardation

Abstract:

Education for all is a basic tenet of our democratic faith, and the opportunity for each individual to developoptimum potential is a guiding principle of our educational system. The specialists in physical education and sportshould be convinced that the whole spectrum of sportive activities can be practiced by the individuals with specialneeds if the teachers, parents and other people understand these disadvantages as, ability” and not as a problem.Gross motor skills and continuous tasks have been found to be retained longer and more effectively when they areassociated with different knowledge (distance, spaces, time, softness, hardness, rhythm,) and other movements. Thepresent study is focused on 24th students in special school. They were diagnosed with mentally retardation- Mildpsychic retard-an IQ among 45-65; they are all educable. Each exercise has an aims, and also an intellectually task.We were appreciating motor performances as: speed running, endurance, arms and abdominal force, ball throw, andstanding long jump. The hypothesis was confirmed, which meant that manipulative exercises accompanied withintellectually task increases the efficiency of physical education lessons to students with mental retardation. Itemphasizes the significant progress of the experimental group compared to the control group on all indicators ofmotor performance. The exercises were attractive and stimulated a spirit of emulation.
