Quality of health information mediated in library according to the perception of its users

Abstract:

Examines the scientific development in health through the mediation of national anduniversity libraries abroad. Considers the provision of university libraries in health care basedon quality as a factor impacting the performance of the scientific community they serve.Evaluates three libraries whose business models are different depending on: the degree ofscientific development of the countries involved, number of courses offered at the universityarea and the employment of information technology. The study presents survey. Employssuggestion of ISO11620: 2008 for flexibility in applying indicators for quality assessment inlibraries, noting the institutional features in the provision of information services. Uses qualityindicators arising from the Services Marketing. So prepare a questionnaire to gather data fromthe internal environment of the libraries in their provision of services, and external user view(LOVELOCK; WRIGHT, 2003). In the current literature indicates that management programsare designed with little interference from the scientific community. What is available has notbeen sufficiently tested and does not guarantee effectiveness of information systems in itsprimary mission of developing the flow of scientific information. Vision articulated by LeCoadic (1996) regarding the use of information for consumption. Explains that universitylibraries are dependent organizations of the University; subject to receiving different externaland internal influences (VERGUEIRO, [2000]), playing leading role in scientific productionin the country. Therefore, the proposed studies focus on the user, breaking with modelsavailable in the literature on quality assessment in libraries.
