The relevance of CDx Brush biopsy in diagnosing early oral cancer in developing countries

Squamous cell Carcinoma of oral mucosa is the most common type of cancer in males and third most commontype in females in the Indian sub continent. Oral Squamous cell Carcinoma (OSCC) is preventable and the risk factorsare well known. There are several techniques for early detection of oral cancer. CDX brush is designed to makeabrasions in the oral mucous membrane so that the dysplastic or malignant cells which are mostly present in the basallayer of epithelium will be caught up in the sample for cytologic analysis.
