Abstract: Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is a rare cause of acute coronary syndrome with a high risk of mortality. The clinical presentation is similar to the atherosclerotic coronary artery disease. The diagnosis is usually made by coronary angiography. Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is more common in women than men. Fast and accurate diagnosis and treatment of spontaneous coronary artery dissection patients improves survival. Therapeutic options include surgery, percutaneous coronary intervention and medical therapy.
