Crecimiento con diferentes dietas en crías de Crocodylus moreletii Dumeril Bibron & Dumeril 1851 (Crocodylia: Crocodylidae) en cautiverio, Tabasco, México

Se determinó el crecimiento en 200 crías de Crocodylus moreletii, separadas en 10 lotes de 20 crías siendo medidas, pesadas y marcadas, suministrándoles carne roja, pescado e hígado de pollo en diferentes proporciones. Se midió (longitud total) y peso cada organismo mensualmente. Las crías al inicio del estudio presentaron en promedio una longitud total de 261 0,17 cm y un peso de 44,4 1,71 g. El mayor crecimiento fue con la dieta D (carne roja-hígado de pollo-pescado), durante los meses de agosto a octubre (30,3 mm/mes), la dieta E (carne roja) fue la mejor durante los meses de noviembre a febrero (10,3 mm/mes). Durante marzo y abril la dieta B (pescado-hígado de pollo) fue la de mejor crecimiento (5,5 mm/mes). Esto evidencia que una dieta alternada a lo largo del a o resulta en un mejor crecimiento. Se observaron dos temporadas de crecimiento agosto-octubre para el mayor crecimiento y noviembre-abril, como los de menor crecimiento.Palabras claves: Cocodrilo de Moreletii, crecimiento, crías, dietas, Tabasco.The growth of 200 hatchlings of Morelet's Crocodile was measured. The individuals were separated into 10 batches of 20 hatchlings each and they were measured, weighed, and marked. Each group was fed red meat, fish and chicken liver in different proportions. Individuals were measured (total length) and weighed monthly. At baseline, the hatchlings had an average total length of 261 ± 0.17 cm and average weight of 44.4 ± 1.71 g. The greatest growth was found with diet D (red meat-chicken liver-fish) from August to October (30.3 mm/month), while diet E (red meat) was best from November to February (10.3 mm/month). During March and April diet B (fish-chicken liver) had the best growth (5.5 mm/month). These results show that variations in diet throughout the year result in better growth. There were two growing seasons, a major one from August to October and a minor one from November to April.Key words: Morelet's Crocodile, growth, hatchling, diet, Tabasco.
