O Sistema de Distribui o de Gás Natural em Mato Grosso: Uma Abordagem Institucionalista

In Mato Grosso, there are slow growth rates and few expansion expectations of natural gas (NG) distribution. This work characterizes the natural gas market to understand the reasons of sub utilization of the distribution system in the State. The results showed that the low dynamism is related to: the absence of private sector expectations; the dependence of supply from Bolivia; the need for high investment levels for net infrastructures; the predominant role of Termocuiabá; the large number of energetic substitutes; and the costs of changing from other energy to NG.
