A Fé CRIST DIANTE DOS DESAFIOS DA CULTURA CONTEMPOR NEA THE CHRISTIAN FAITH TOWARDS THE CHALLENGES OF CONTEMPORARY CULTURE

Resumo: A cultura contemporanea é normalmente chamada de post-modernidade. Ela se relaciona com a modernidade de modo dialético, pois se inspira em alguns aspectos modernos e critica algumas das suas pretens es. O resultado é um contexto com luzes e sombras, no qual surgem importantes desafios: a recupera o de uma raz o n o unilateral e a supera o dos reducionismos sociais e antropológicos, causados pela seculariza o. Se a margina o da religi o e o indiferentismo religioso – fen menos próprios do processo de seculariza o – provocam um vazio no homem, uma sensibilidade religiosa de caráter funcional e individualista se revelam insuficientes em termos antropológicos e religiosos. De frente a esses desafios, a fé crist se apresenta como instancia que permite a apertura à verdade (credo ut intelligam) e oferece a salva o ao homem, ao reconduzi-lo ao amor de Deus.Abstract: The contemporary culture we live in is usually called “post-modern”. Its relationship with modernity is dialectic in the sense that our culture accepts the basic inspiration of modernity but criticizes some of its presuppositions. Hence originate a mixture of light and shadow, and important challenges, as for instance: recovering a concept of reason that is not one-dimensional, and overcoming social and anthropological reductionisms produced by secularization. The marginalization of religion and religious indifference are typical phenomena of the process of secularization. They create a vacuum in the human person that a merely functional and individualistic religious feeling cannot address sufficiently in an anthropological and religious sense. Facing these challenges the Christian faith is an important element that opens human reason to the truth and offers salvation to man by guiding him to the love of God.
