Myofascial syndromeKeywords: Chronic pain , Trigger point , Taut band , Local twitch response Abstract: Myofascial pain syndrome is common cause one of musculoskeletal pain and it is characterized by trigger points (TP), limited range of motion in joints and local twitch response (LTR) during mechanical stimulation of the TP.Trigger point is a hyperirritable spot in skeletal muscle that is associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band. The spot is tender when pressed and can give rise to characteristic referred pain, motor dysfunction and autonomic phenomena. Palpation is reliable diagnostic criterion for locating TP in patients. Treatment is based on anesthetise TP, stretch and spray, local pression and physical activity.
