De historia privada a historia pública y de la afirmación al discurso: Una reflexión en torno a la historiografía medieval catalana (985-1288)

The writing of history is strictly related to the self-perception of a politicalentity, and its rhetorical construction depends mostly on the public representation of powerand on its need to be communicated. The political and cultural evolution of the Catalan Counties during the 10th to the 13th centuries is followed by a similar need of research and reproduction through the writing of a political and familiar past and present. This process, realized on account of the afirmation of the legitimacy of its narration, leads the historiography of 13th-century Catalonia to the recovery of classical models of rhetorical construction and public communication.
