Abstract:

The introduction of new technological tools, potentially innovative, in the educational system is now a reality. In my point of view, understanding how teachers are engaging with technology is the key to analyze the educational context in which we are immerse. Likewise it enables us to discern possible latent prejudices of our society hidden behind the search for technological insertion. The data presented are the result of an exploratory study done with English language teachers participants of EDUCONLE – Continuing Educational Program for English Teachers – sponsored by the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 2009. The results lead us to reflect on the difficulties still faced by teachers during the appropriation of technology as a pedagogical tool.
