ESTATíSTICA MULTIVARIADA APLICADA NA PREDI O DE ALUNOS EVADIDOS DE INSTITUI ES DE ENSINO SUPERIOR PRIVADAS

ResumoEste trabalho procura contribuir com as discuss es que envolvem o problema da evas o escolar em Institui es de Ensino Superior privadas. Investigou-se variáveis que pudessem discriminar dois grupos, um deles formado por alunos que possuem maiores chances de saírem da Institui o com a titula o; o outro formado por alunos que deixaram a Institui o sem a titula o. Para a classifica o de indivíduos em um dos dois grupos, utilizou-se a Fun o Discriminante Linear de Fisher. Além das variáveis discriminantes, a fun o classificatória também foi alimentada por escores fatoriais. A pesquisa foi realizada em uma Institui o de Ensino Superior privada de Foz do Igua u–PR, de tamanho médio em compara o com outras Institui es da cidade. Variáveis discriminantes, tais como: tempo para estudos e decep o com o curso escolhido, permitiram identificar indivíduos com propens o à desistência. ABSTRACT This paper tries to contribute to the discussions which implicate the school evasion problem in the private colleges and universities. It was investigated variables which could discriminate two groups, one of them formed by students who have better chances of leaving the colleges and universities graduated and, the other one, formed by students who left the colleges and universities without graduating. For the individual classification in one of the groups were used the Fisher Linear Discriminating Function. Besides the discriminating variables, the classificatory functions were also fed on factorial scores. The research was performed at one medium size private colleges and universities in Foz do Igua u – Pr, compared to other institutions in the city. Discriminating variables, such as: time to study and deception with the chosen course, they allowed identify individuals with propensity to cease.
