Confidencialidad: orientaciones para su correcto cumplimiento

PROPóSITOEl cambio en la relación médico-paciente, que recientemente ha pasado de afectar a dos personas a ser la del paciente con su equipo asistencial, puede provocar situaciones en las que la confidencialidad se vea alterada.METODOLOGíAPaciente, destinatario de la información del proceso de salud-enfermedad. Los implicados deben respetar la confidencialidad de los datos, procurar intimidad en los espacios físicos, evitar comentarios sobre los historiales, no facilitar información a terceras personas sin permiso del paciente respetando su derecho a la no información.Historia clínica, documento que recoge la información del proceso asistencial, debe ser también respetado. Todos los miembros del equipo asistencial están sujetos a la confidencialidad, garantizando la protección física de las historias y acotando la información que instituciones ajenas a la sanidad puedan solicitar.La informatización de datos sanitarios plantea nuevos frentes, permaneciendo invariable el secreto médico, por ello se analiza la cobertura legal que vela por el mantenimiento de la confidencialidad.
